#EttoreMaserati
Ettore Maserati was an Italian automotive engineer and one of the five Maserati brothers who played a key role in the founding and development of the Maserati marque. He was born in Voghera in 1894. His eldest brother, Carlo Maserati, introduced him to the automotive world, bringing him to work at Junior (a small car manufacturer) in 1908. After Carlo's death in 1910, Ettore, along with his brothers Alfieri and Bindo, joined Isotta Fraschini, where they gained valuable technical experience and took part in international technical support and representation tours in the years leading up to World War I. In 1914, the Maserati brothers—led by Alfieri—founded Officine Alfieri Maserati in Bologna, initially focused on spark plug production and later on racing car construction. Ettore remained actively involved in the technical and managerial operations of the company until 1937, when Maserati was sold to industrialist Adolfo Orsi. The following year, the company relocated to Modena under Orsi’s ownership. Ettore, together with Ernesto and Bindo, remained under contract with the Orsi-owned Maserati until 1947. That same year, once their contractual obligations ended, the three brothers returned to Bologna to establish a new company: O.S.C.A. (Officine Specializzate Costruzione Automobili) – Maserati, dedicated to the design and production of small-displacement sports and racing cars.
We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
