#PontedecimoGiovi

The Pontedecimo–Giovi was a renowned Italian hill climb held in Liguria from 1922 to 1967, encompassing a total of 28 editions. Organized by the local Automobile Club, the event took place on a 9.65-kilometer course that started in Pontedecimo, a northern district of Genoa, and ended at the Passo dei Giovi in the municipality of Mignanego. Characterized by technical corners and significant elevation changes, the route posed a serious challenge to both drivers and vehicles. Over the years, the race attracted many prominent competitors, including Nino Farina, who won in 1938 driving an Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B, completing the climb in 6 minutes and 32.4 seconds at an average speed of 90.610 km/h. Another standout figure was Odoardo Govoni, who holds the record for the most victories with three wins. After the final edition in 1967, the race's legacy has lived on through historic commemorations. For over two decades, the Veteran Car Club Ligure has organized a regularity rally for historic cars, retracing the original course in celebration of the region’s motorsport history and cultural heritage.
