Giovanni Tonti (born July 1, 1942, in Casara (NO), Italy) is an Italian automotive engineer who served as Technical Director of the Reparto Corse Lancia, contributing to the development of several of the brand’s rally cars during its competitive years. His work played a role in Lancia’s success in the World Rally Championship, particularly in refining and optimizing race vehicles for competition. Beyond motorsport, Tonti also worked as Director of the Tracks and the Centro Prove di Quattroruote in Vairano, overseeing vehicle testing and development. His career has spanned both racing and automotive evaluation, reflecting his expertise in high-performance engineering and vehicle dynamics.
