#autodelta

Autodelta was Alfa Romeo's official racing organisation, originally established as Auto Delta in March 1963 by Carlo Chiti and Lodovico Chizzola near Udine, Italy. Initially an independent company, it was responsible for assembling, developing and racing the Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ. On 30 November 1964, the company became Autodelta S.p.A., retaining its registered headquarters at Feletto Umberto while progressively transferring its technical operations to Settimo Milanese, near Alfa Romeo's facilities. In 1966, the company was placed into liquidation and its activities were incorporated into Alfa Romeo's official racing department, which continued to use the Autodelta name. Under Carlo Chiti's technical direction, Autodelta achieved major international successes with the Giulia TZ and TZ2, the GTA and GTAm, and the Tipo 33 sports prototypes, later contributing to Alfa Romeo's return to Formula One.
