#ScuderiaSantAmbroeus

The Scuderia Sant'Ambroeus is a racing team born in Milan in 1951 from an idea by Eugenio Dragoni, Alberto della Beffa, Franco Martinengo, Alessandro Zafferri, and Elio Zagato. Named after the patron saint of Milan, the Scuderia was created to promote the competitive activity of emerging drivers, with the aim of bringing pilots—especially Italians—to the threshold of Formula One. Throughout the 1950s and 1960s, Sant'Ambroeus became a prominent presence in Italian motorsport, competing in Formula Junior, sports car racing, and hillclimbs with vehicles from Ferrari, Maserati, Abarth, Alfa Romeo, and Stanguellini. The team served as a training ground for young talents, including future Formula One drivers like Giancarlo Baghetti, who made his debut under its colors. Thanks to its close ties with Ferrari and its strong presence in national events, the Scuderia played a key role in shaping the Italian racing scene of the postwar era.
