#StallavenaBoscoChiesanuova

Motoring has deep roots in the Stallavena area. After the pioneers of the late nineteenth century, the so-called "auto-sciatorie" events gained popularity—first racing uphill by car on the old, narrow, and often snow-covered road to Bosco, then continuing the challenge on skis. The Stallavena–Bosco Chiesanuova hill climb emerged from this tradition. First held in 1958 and last run in 1968, the race was born from the legacy of the Torricelle event. In just a few years, it became known as "the fastest hill climb in Europe." Local farmers used to joke that, for three days, their cows stopped producing milk due to the roar of engines breaking the silence of the highlands during Saturday’s practice runs and Sunday’s race.
