#FrancoCornacchia

Italian racing driver Franco Cornacchia was a significant figure in early Ferrari history, both as a driver and dealer. According to Carlo Felice Bianchi Anderloni, Cornacchia was "the first and most important Ferrari dealer in Italy." He actively promoted the sale of Ferraris through racing but eventually had conflicts with Enzo Ferrari. As Anderloni suggests, Cornacchia may have sought to prove his influence in the automotive industry beyond Ferrari, establishing himself as a key dealer for other marques. He played a role in promoting these manufacturers and was likely instrumental in introducing Carrozzeria Touring to Commendatore Adolfo Orsi, then the owner of Maserati, acting as an intermediary between them. Despite his break with Ferrari, Cornacchia remained a key figure in Italian motorsport and the high-performance car industry, leveraging his experience and connections to shape the racing and commercial landscape of the time.
