The Coppa della Perugina in the twenties was an international car race, invented and commissioned by Giovanni Buitoni, the then patron of the "La Perugina" confectionery company. it was the first speed race on the circuit disputed in Umbria from 1924 to 1927. Closed the break in the competitions linked to the Second World War, the Giro Automobilistico dell'Umbria was a car competition carried out on roads open to the public, disputed in various formulas and several years between 1948 and 1992.
