Note: Del Monte Trophy Race: modified cars over 1500 cc (48 laps). On lap twenty-six, Ernie McAfee left the road near turn six. The car stuck a tree, istantly killing the driver. Few, if any, of the other driver realized the severity of the accident and after a pause for the ambulance the race continued. Shelby, on lap twenty-nine, took the lead from Hill and was never challenged again. Phill Hill was second and Jack McAfee (Ernie's brother) third. Before racing the Ferrari 735 LM, on the same day, Ernie McAfee drives an OSCA MT4 1500cc #176 (race #2, DNF class F).
