#LanciaAureliaB52
Introduced in 1952 as part of the Aurelia rolling chassis family that also included the B50, B51 and B53, the Lancia Aurelia B52 was the standard two-litre platform developed specifically for independent coachbuilders. Replacing the earlier 1.8-litre B50, it was based on the advanced Aurelia architecture, combining the innovative rear transaxle layout, independent suspension and compact V6 engine with a bare chassis intended for bespoke bodies. The adoption of the more powerful 2-litre unit, already used on the B21 sedan and B20 coupé, made the B52 particularly suitable for refined yet more substantial coachbuilt designs. Produced in very limited numbers, the B52 chassis was supplied to some of the most renowned Italian and European carrozzerie—including Pininfarina, Vignale, Ghia and others—giving rise to an extraordinary variety of exclusive coupés, cabriolets and show cars. Today, the coachbuilt Aurelia B52 models are regarded among the rarest and most distinctive expressions of Lancia’s post-war engineering and design culture.
We'll tell the story of this model on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
