#Ferrari166Inter
The Ferrari 166 Inter was the first Ferrari built primarily for road use. Presented in 1948 at the Salone dell’Automobile di Torino, it marked the beginning of Ferrari’s transition from a manufacturer of racing cars also adapted for the road to a company capable of offering a true gran turismo model. Derived from the early 125 S and 166 S competition cars, the 166 Inter retained their basic mechanical architecture, including Gioacchino Colombo’s 2-litre V12, but was intended above all for refined high-speed road use. Produced until 1950 in a total of 37 units, it was bodied by several of Italy’s leading coachbuilders and established the formula from which Ferrari’s early road-car production would develop.
We'll tell the story of this model on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
