#DeTomaso

De Tomaso was an Italian car manufacturer founded in Modena in 1959 by the Italian-Argentine racing driver Alejandro de Tomaso. Initially focused on single-seaters, prototypes, and racing cars, the company soon expanded into limited-production road-going sports cars and grand tourers, building some of the most distinctive Italo-American high-performance models of the post-war era, from the Vallelunga and Mangusta to the Pantera, Longchamp and Deauville. Over the years, De Tomaso also extended its industrial reach well beyond its own marque, controlling brands such as Ghia, Maserati, Moto Guzzi, Benelli and Innocenti at different stages of its history. After Alejandro de Tomaso’s death in 2003, the original company entered a long and troubled transitional period. Since 2019, however, the marque has been revived under new ownership.
