The Coppa Alpe del Nevegal began in 1954 as an Automobile Club Belluno social hill‑climb over a partly unpaved 7.7 km route, becoming an annual event in 1958 and evolving into a key Italian mountain race until halted by a serious accident in 1973; after a hiatus, it was revived in 1989 and continues today under Tre Cime Promotor ASD as part of TIVM and CIVM series.
