MILANO AUTOCLASSICA: A MUST-SEE FOR ENTHUSIASTS
November 18, 2024
The fourteenth edition of Milano AutoClassica was held at the Fiera Milano Rho pavilions from November 15 to 17, surpassing expectations: more than 82,000 visitors and over 600 press accreditations confirmed the event as a key reference point for vintage car enthusiasts. A large influx of young attendees was drawn by the MAC NEXT GEN area (Milano AutoClassica Next Generation), an incubator hub dedicated to new collectors.
The exhibition offered a rich and curated selection, with 4,500 vehicles displayed at the fair and 1,000 cars registered for meetings. There was an increase in the number of partners and brands present, featuring four exclusive premieres, as well as growth in the vintage parts and accessories area, and among private sellers, offering a wide range of cars, including affordable options for all budgets. The calendar of side events was also rich and tightly scheduled.
Andrea Martini, President of Milano AutoClassica, described the event as “an engaging experience to relive unforgettable moments or to give a dream, through exhibitions, debates, and meetings with notable figures of vintage motoring and representatives from the world of car modifications,” aiming to “educate new generations, raising awareness of the importance of automotive heritage.”
The celebration area of Milano AutoClassica's Club House paid tribute to 70 years of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL “Gullwing”. 70 years of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, and 40 years of the Ferrari Testarossa (with a parade of 30 cars) were also celebrated.
The most prestigious brands participated, showcasing historically valuable models representing their heritage, as well as new offerings, with an eye toward the future; such as the three spectacular Ferrari models for Le Mans, displayed side by side: the 1978 512 BB LM, the 1987 F40 LM, and the 2023 499 P, as well as the upcoming models from Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Bentley, among others. Attendees included the Italy Clubs of BMW, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, and Porsche, as well as a significant number of other prominent clubs and Italian teams.
Two magnificent representatives of AUTOMOTIVE MASTERPIECES were present, of course: the 1949 Ferrari 166 Panoramica Sanction II (Zagato) sn 0061S and the 1948 Fiat Zanussi Fontebasso Sport (Carrozzeria Vendrame) sn 5500748.
The outdoor area of the pavilions also saw record attendance, featuring Tesla test drives and numerous organized meetings.
The events curated by sector federations, such as ACI Storico and ASI, had a rich and varied schedule. The Fratelli Cozzi Museum presented the third edition of the photo exhibition "Donne e Motori? ...gioie e basta" (Women and Motors? ...Just Joy), aimed at challenging gender stereotypes and created by Elisabetta Cozzi. Ruoteclassiche announced the Best in Classic awards: vehicles, individuals, places, projects, and works in the heritage automotive world that stood out over the past twelve months.
The Vintage Boat Show, dedicated to classic boats, was also highly appreciated.
