Paolo Pininfarina passed away yesterday.

April 10, 2024

Paolo Pininfarina, the chairman since 2008 of the historic Turin-based company that over 90 years has produced more than 600 models among the most prestigious in the Italian automotive industry, has passed away.
A witness to Italian style in the automotive world, he was 65 years old and had been ill for some time. His family was by his side until the end. Joining the company in 1982 at the age of 24, Paolo Pininfarina became chairman following the sudden death of his brother Andrea in a road accident in 2008. His name is associated with the Sergio concept car, a two-seater barchetta based on Ferrari mechanics, which Paolo wanted to create in 2013 in memory of his father, Sergio Pininfarina, and the Automobili Pininfarina Battista, an electric hypercar named after his grandfather. We proudly include in Automotive Masterpieces two true icons of the recent Ferrari course, designed in Pininfarina in the period in which Paolo Pininfarina was active: a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO and a 1991 Ferrari F40.
