Cars counted among the Automotive Masterpieces on display at Auto e Moto d'Epoca

Great success for the Bolognese premiere of Auto e Moto d'Epoca: 13 pavilions for 235,000 m2, 14 motor manufacturers, over 7000 vintage cars and motorbikes. Many visitors during the 4 days of opening and, not to be taken for granted, many young people. The presence of 35% of foreigners was also significant. From October 26 to 29, the fair brought together the best of automotive collecting. The cars included among the Automotive Masterpieces could not be missing, and no less than 14 real jewels were on display, including two true AM discoveries: the Mercedes Benz 180 D and the Lancia Aurelia B20 sn 2342, turned out to be ex Mille Miglia.
The Automotive Masterpieces testimonials were, in age order: 1928 Alfa Romeo 6C 1500 Mille Miglia Speciale (Zagato) sn 0231325, that was 17th overall and 3rd in class at the 1929 Mille Miglia. 1939 Siata 1100 Coupé (Viberti) sn 508C-238030 that raced the 1940 Gran Premio di Brescia delle Mille Miglia, ranking 16th overall and 6th in class. 1940 Auto Avio Costruzioni 815 (Carrozzeria Touring) sn 815/021, Enzo Ferrari's first own project, 2nd of 2 chassis; 1940, 1947 and 1948 Mille Miglia entrant and only remaining. 1947 Fiat Stanguellini 1100 Berlinetta Special (Bertone) sn 290996 that raced the 1951 Coppa Inter-Europa. 1948 Cisitalia 202 Gran Sport (Carrozzeria Alfredo Vignale & C.) sn 110SC owned by Francesco Vasaturo, with whom probably raced. 1951 Lancia Aurelia B20 (Pinin Farina) sn B20-1246, racer in four editions of Mille Miglia and Coppa d'Oro delle Dolomiti. 1952 Ermini Sport Internazionale (Carrozzeria Motto) sn 055352 that raced 1952 Mille Miglia and Targa Florio (1st in class), 1953 Mille Miglia and Coppa d’Oro delle Dolomiti. 1953 Lancia Aurelia B20 (Pinin Farina) sn B20-2342 with a huge palmarès including 18th overall at the Mille Miglia and 4th overall at the Coppa Intereuropa, in 1955. 1954 Fiat 8V (Carrozzerie Speciali Fiat) sn 106.000103, one of only 29 Fiat 8V second series with standard body. 1954 Mercedes-Benz 180 D (Mercedes-Benz) sn 120110-4511348, 220th OA at the 1955 Mille Miglia, 3rd in the "Diesel Group", 1st of Italian diesel-crews and only diesel-survivor from the race. 1956 DB H.B.R. 5 (DB) sn HBR5 842, one of 3 cars known, ex works, participated in 1956 (6th in class) and 1957 Mille Miglia. 1956 Bandini 750 Sport Internazionale (Bandini) sn 159, known as Saponetta, ran 1956 and 1957 Mille Miglia. 1958 Maserati TIPO 420/M/58 Eldorado (Carrozzeria Fantuzzi) sn 4203 built for "Monzanapolis" with Stirling Moss and was the very first European competition car finished in the colours of its sponsors.
