#CoppaIntereuropa

The Coppa Intereuropa was a prestigious GT circuit race held at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza, first run in 1949. Originally conceived as a standalone event to showcase the emerging class of Gran Turismo cars, it quickly gained prominence for attracting top-level drivers and manufacturers. Beginning in 1952, the race became a regular feature of the Italian motorsport calendar by being scheduled on the morning of the Formula One Italian Grand Prix, turning it into a high-profile support event. The Coppa Intereuropa provided an important competitive arena for marques such as Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, and Porsche, often fielding both works and privateer entries. Its inclusion alongside the Grand Prix weekend drew international attention and helped promote GT racing to a broader audience. Over the decades, the race became a benchmark for performance and style in the GT category, known not only for its speed but also for the technical and aesthetic excellence of the participating cars.
