RIV (acronym of Roberto Incerti & C. - Villar Perosa) was an Italian engineering company founded in 1906 in Villar Perosa by Roberto Incerti, bicycle manufacturer, and Giovanni Agnelli. From the outset, the company has specialized in the production of ball bearings. Founded as part of FIAT, in 1919 it became an independent anonymous company, even if Giovanni Agnelli retained part of the shareholdings. Between 1965 and 1979 RIV was incorporated into the Swedish SKF, a metallurgical company producing ball bearings and similar products.
