#delage

Founded in 1905 by Louis Delâge, Delage quickly became one of France’s premier marques, renowned for luxury, engineering sophistication and Grand Prix success. In the 1910s and 1920s, the brand earned global recognition with victories in major races, including the 1914 Indianapolis 500 and the 1927 World Championship for Constructors. By the early 1930s, however, financial difficulties led to its acquisition by Delahaye in 1935. While retaining its name and prestige, Delage shared technical platforms and mechanical components with Delahaye models, including the celebrated Type 135 and its derivatives. Under Delahaye’s stewardship, Delage continued to compete and exhibit at high-profile events, contributing to the golden age of French coachbuilt automobiles before ceasing operations in 1953. Today, Delage is remembered as a symbol of French elegance, innovation and sporting prestige.
