#WhitsunTrophy
The Whitsun Trophy was one of Goodwood Motor Circuit’s most important sports car races, traditionally held during the Whitsun bank holiday weekend in late spring. Established in the 1950s, it featured powerful two-seater sports-racing cars—both contemporary and post-war specials—from leading marques like Jaguar, Lotus, Lister, Cooper, Ferrari and Aston Martin. The event earned a reputation for its fast pace and fierce competition, particularly on Goodwood’s flowing high-speed layout. Revived as part of the modern Goodwood Revival and Members’ Meeting, the Whitsun Trophy remains a highlight of historic motorsport, showcasing iconic machines such as the Ford GT40, Lola T70, and lightweight Jaguars in their natural habitat.
