#WhiteMouseStable
The White Mouse Stable was a private motor racing team founded in the mid-1930s by Prince Chula Chakrabongse of Siam. Named humorously after a Siamese proverb about the power of small creatures, the stable became one of the most successful independent racing teams of its era. Based in the United Kingdom, it was created to support the career of Prince Chula’s cousin, Prince Birabongse Bhanudej Bhanubandh—better known as Prince Bira—who would go on to become the first and only Thai driver to race in Formula One. The team initially entered ERA (English Racing Automobiles) cars in Voiturette and Grand Prix events before World War II, achieving notable success with Bira behind the wheel. In 1937, the White Mouse Stable also ran the Delahaye 135 S (chassis no. 47188), which won the Donington 12-Hour race with Bira and co-driver Hector Dobbs. After the war, the team resumed activity briefly but did not return to the same level of prominence. Despite its modest size, the White Mouse Stable earned a respected place in racing history thanks to its elegance, competitive spirit, and its symbolic representation of Siamese (Thai) national pride on the international stage.
