Victor Henry “Vic” Elford (1935–2022) was a British racing driver celebrated for his extraordinary versatility across rallying, sports car racing, and Formula 1. Nicknamed “Quick Vic,” he was one of the few drivers to win major international events in both rally and circuit competition. He achieved outstanding victories for Porsche, including the Monte Carlo Rally, the Targa Florio, and the 24 Hours of Daytona, before joining Alfa Romeo’s Autodelta team in 1972. That year he raced the 33 TT 3 in the World Sportscar Championship, notably at the Buenos Aires 1000 km, the Targa Florio, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Known for his precision, adaptability, and calm under pressure, Elford remains one of the most complete and respected figures in motorsport history.
