Umberto Del Vacchio was one of the earliest technical draftsmen and chassis designers working alongside Alejandro de Tomaso in the company’s first Modena workshop, translating De Tomaso’s ideas into engineering drawings as early as December 1961. He designed the innovative chassis of the De Tomaso Vallelunga.
