Tony Dron (29 August 1946 – 16 November 2021) was a British racing driver, motoring journalist and author. A leading touring-car driver in the 1970s, especially with Triumph Dolomites for the works British Leyland/Broadspeed team, he also raced at Le Mans three times in Porsche machinery, taking a class win in 1982. In parallel, he became a respected motoring writer, serving as sports editor of Motor, editor of Classic Cars, and contributor to The Daily Telegraph and Octane. Later active in historic racing, he drove many important competition cars and was widely regarded as one of the few motoring journalists whose racing experience matched his writing authority.
