Tim Ritter was an American collector, dealer and historian specialising in small-displacement Italian sports and racing cars, particularly the post-war etceterini. Based in Illinois, he was active from at least the 1980s and became known within specialist circles for locating, identifying and preserving rare or incomplete cars by manufacturers such as O.S.C.A., Stanguellini, Bandini, Siata and Moretti. Ritter combined collecting with research and trading, and several significant Italian competition cars passed through his hands. His knowledge of obscure constructors, chassis and period modifications made him a recognised figure among American enthusiasts of lightweight European racing cars. In 1984, he sold O.S.C.A. MT4 chassis no. 1127 to Ananda Covindassamy. Although a complete biographical profile has not yet emerged, the available evidence identifies him as the same Illinois-based specialist later remembered within the historic etceterini community as a collector, dealer and knowledgeable researcher.
