#TargaDelBusento
The Targa del Busento was a Calabrian road competition centred on Cosenza and its inland roads, documented in period results as the 1st Targa del Busento – Cosenza–Tessano in 1959 and the 2nd Targa del Busento in 1960. It belonged to the network of Southern Italian road and hillclimb events that gave Gran Turismo and production-based competition cars a regular sporting arena in the post-war years. Named after the Busento river, one of the defining geographical features of Cosenza, the event was part of the local and regional motorsport culture that developed around the city and the surrounding Calabrian hinterland. Although less prominent than the better-known national hillclimbs, it formed part of the dense competition calendar in which gentleman drivers remained active throughout the 1950s and early 1960s.
We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
