#SokichiShikiba

Sokichi Shikiba (敷場昌吉) was a prominent Japanese racing driver and collector active from the late 1950s through the 1970s. He achieved national fame by winning the 1964 Japanese Grand Prix, driving a Prince Skyline GT, and later became one of the most respected figures in Japan’s postwar motorsport scene. Closely connected with Cornes & Co. Ltd, Ferrari’s official importer, Shikiba was among the first private owners of Ferrari road cars in Japan. His name is associated with early imports of high-performance European models, including the first Ferrari Testarossa to arrive in the country — chassis 53285 — which he acquired shortly after its factory display period, marking a symbolic bridge between Ferrari’s European debut and its growing prestige in Asia.

We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
