Paolo Cantarella, engineer, born in Varallo Sesia (VC), 04/12/1944. He initially worked in Turin-based companies of automotive components holding the position of General Manager. He joined Fiat in 1977 in the Automotive Components sector. In 1980 he was appointed assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of Fiat S.p.A., simultaneously managing the Group's Inter-sector Industrial Coordination. In 1983 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Comau, the Fiat Group company operating worldwide in the sector of production vehicles and systems. In 1989 he joined Fiat Auto as Head of Purchasing and Logistics. On 1 February 1990 he was appointed General Manager of Fiat Auto. Since 10 December 1990 Chief Executive Officer of Fiat Auto and Head of the Automotive Sector of the Fiat Group. From 28 February 1996 to 10/06/2002 Chief Executive Officer of Fiat S.p.A., Chairman of Fiat Auto S.p.A., Chairman of IVECO B.V.
