The Monterey Grand Prix, also known as the Course de Monterey, was established in 1957 at the newly built Laguna Seca Raceway as the successor to the Pebble Beach Road Races. From its debut, the event became a cornerstone of American sports car racing, hosting SCCA Nationals, the United States Road Racing Championship, IMSA GT, the American Le Mans Series, and today the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Over the decades, it has showcased legendary cars, teams, and drivers, preserving Monterey’s place as one of the most prestigious venues in North American motorsport.
We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
