Mauro Pregliasco (born 11 December 1944 in Millesimo, Italy), nicknamed "Il Prete" ("The Priest"), is a former Italian rally driver and entrepreneur. He began his motorsport career in 1967, participating in hill climb events, and transitioned to rallying in 1970. Pregliasco achieved significant success in the Italian rally scene, notably winning the 1977 Italian Rally Championship driving a Lancia Stratos HF. Throughout his career, Pregliasco drove for various manufacturers, including Lancia, Alfa Romeo, and Ford. In 1978, he joined the Alfa Romeo team, finishing second in the Italian Rally Championship with the Alfetta GT. The following year, he secured a commendable fourth place in the World Rally Championship standings. After retiring from active competition in 1987, Pregliasco transitioned into entrepreneurship, managing the Astra Team, which achieved numerous victories and contributed to the development of Italian motorsport. His enduring passion for rallying is evident, as he continues to participate in historic rally events, revisiting iconic stages and celebrating the sport's rich history.
