Mauro Prampolini was an Italian mechanic active first with Ferrari and later with Giotto Bizzarrini in Livorno. Later accounts describe him as Bizzarrini’s chief mechanic and as one of the earliest figures in the small working structure that took shape around the marque in its formative years. In subsequent decades he remained an important witness to that world, especially in connection with first-hand recollections of the workshop, its methods and its cars.
