The widow of Léon Desmarais, Marguerite Desmarais was a discreet but decisive supporter of Delahaye’s sporting renaissance. She is credited with encouraging Charles Weiffenbach and the board to develop a competition programme in the early 1930s, which led to the establishment of a works racing department and the launch of the Type 135 S.
