Luigi Chiaramonte Bordonaro Alliata, also known as Baron Luigi Bordonaro di Chiaramonte and nicknamed "Lulù", was a prominent figure of Sicilian aristocracy in the 20th century, often referred to as “the last Leopard” for his elegant and traditional lifestyle. He belonged to the historic Chiaramonte Bordonaro family and lived in the 18th-century Villa Chiaramonte Bordonaro ai Colli in Palermo, which he transformed into a vibrant cultural and social hub, frequented by artists, intellectuals, and political figures. A passionate racing enthusiast, Baron Bordonaro was also an official Ferrari driver during the 1950s. He competed in numerous events at the wheel of iconic models such as the Ferrari 750 Monza and the Ferrari 212 Export. Among his most notable achievements were an overall victory in the Monte Pellegrino Hillclimb in 1955 and several participations in the legendary Targa Florio. His legacy as both a gentleman and a sportsman continues to be honored by his descendants, who preserve the cultural and historical significance of the Chiaramonte Bordonaro lineage.
