The Los Angeles Times Grand Prix Weekend was one of the major annual motor-racing meetings held at Riverside International Raceway in California. Centred on the Los Angeles Times Grand Prix, first run in 1958 as the first major professional sports-car race of its kind in the United States, the weekend brought together leading American and international drivers and became one of Riverside’s signature events. In addition to the principal Grand Prix, the programme could include supporting races for other categories, which varied between editions and later included historic-car competitions. The designation “Grand Prix Weekend” therefore refers to the complete meeting rather than exclusively to the headline race.
