#LandoBuzzanca

Gerlando “Lando” Buzzanca (24 August 1935 – 18 December 2022) was an Italian actor from Palermo, active in cinema, theatre and television. After early appearances, including Ben-Hur, he was launched by Pietro Germi in Divorzio all’italiana and Sedotta e abbandonata, becoming one of the most recognisable faces of Italian popular comedy in the 1960s and 1970s. Often associated with satirical roles built around the stereotype of the exuberant Sicilian male, he also worked with major directors including Dino Risi, Antonio Pietrangeli, Luciano Salce, Alberto Lattuada and Pasquale Festa Campanile. In later years he returned successfully to television and received renewed critical attention with films such as I Viceré.
