James Edward “Jim” Pauley was an American sports-car driver active mainly during the 1950s. His competition career included MG, Cisitalia, Siata, Bandini, O.S.C.A. and Ferrari machinery, with frequent appearances at Thompson, Bridgehampton, Watkins Glen and Sebring. Racing Sports Cars records his activity from 1949 to 1958, with numerous overall and class victories. Pauley was particularly associated with small-displacement Italian sports-racing cars. In 1953 he achieved several strong results with a Bandini-Siata, including victories at Thompson and second place at Bridgehampton. On 11 October that year he also drove O.S.C.A. MT4 chassis no. 1127 at Thompson, finishing fifth overall and first in class. He later raced Ferrari 500 Mondials and returned to O.S.C.A. competition, notably with chassis no. 1138 and other MT4s during the second half of the decade.
