Jean Auguste Joseph Riolfo was born on March 28, 1894 in Toulon (Var); died on July 19, 1985. On September 30, 1939, he was placed on special assignment as Head of engine testing at the Renault factories, for three months. He is one of the designers of the Renault 4 cv, along with engineers Fernand Picard and Charles Edmond Serre.
