#JCCInternationalTrophy
The JCC International Trophy was a prestigious handicap-style motor race organized by the Junior Car Club (later BARC) at Brooklands during the mid-to-late 1930s. Inaugurated in 1933, the event quickly gained a reputation for thrilling competition between large and small-capacity cars racing together under a unique handicapping system. The layout used in the 1937 and 1938 editions measured approximately 3.369 miles (5.42 km) and combined parts of the road circuit with the members’ banking, creating a balanced mix of high-speed and technical challenges. The race attracted top drivers such as Raymond Mays, Prince Bira, Percy Maclure, and featured strong entries from ERA, Riley, Bugatti, and other marques. The 1938 running was overshadowed by a tragic accident involving a Delage that caught fire and caused spectator fatalities, marking the last of these pre-war editions. After World War II, the JCC/BRDC revived the International Trophy name at Silverstone, establishing it as a major non-championship Formula One event.
