#IbsleyRaceMeeting
The Ibsley Race Meeting refers to a series of motor races held in the early 1950s at RAF Ibsley, a former wartime airfield located in Hampshire, England. Like many other aerodrome circuits of the post-war period, Ibsley featured fast, flat layouts well-suited for sports cars, Formula 3 and club specials. Organized by the West Hants & Dorset Car Club (WH&DCC) and occasionally by the BARC, Ibsley attracted rising British talent as well as gentleman drivers eager to compete at regional level. While it never hosted international championships, the circuit played a key role in nurturing the UK’s grassroots racing scene before closing in the mid-1950s. Today, it remains a symbol of the vibrant, improvised motorsport landscape of early post-war Britain.
