#GransdenLodgeCircuit
Gransden Lodge was a post‑World War II racing venue held at the former RAF Gransden Lodge airfield in Cambridgeshire. The first post-war closed-circuit motor race meeting in Britain took place there on 15 June 1946, organized by the Cambridge University Automobile Club. A triangular circuit was formed using two runways and a section of the perimeter road. A second event followed in July 1947, known as the Gransden Trophy, after which the venue ceased to host motorsport. These meetings demonstrated the potential of disused airfields as racing circuits and paved the way for future inland circuits like Silverstone and Goodwood.
We'll tell the story of this circuit on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
