#GoodwoodEasterMonday
The Goodwood International Car Race Meeting held on Easter Monday was a cornerstone of British motorsport from the circuit’s post-war reopening in 1948 through the early 1960s. Organized by the BARC (British Automobile Racing Club), the Easter Monday meeting drew large crowds and top-level drivers, often serving as the opening round of the national racing season. Featuring multiple race classes—sports cars, Formula Libre, Formula 3 and saloon cars—it became known for its competitive fields and festive atmosphere. Famous entrants included Stirling Moss, Mike Hawthorn, Roy Salvadori and Jack Brabham. The event helped solidify Goodwood’s reputation as Britain’s fastest and most picturesque circuit, and today its legacy lives on through historic reenactments like the Goodwood Members’ Meeting.
We'll tell the story of this event on the occasion of its anniversary or when it will reach a sufficient number of cars.
