Giorgio Giovanni Battista Pianta (Milan, 11 July 1935 – Milan, 18 April 2014) was an Italian racing driver, sports manager, and engineer, widely recognized for his contributions to motorsport, particularly in rallying and touring car racing. A passionate and skilled driver, Pianta competed in various national and international events before transitioning into a managerial role, where he played a pivotal part in the development of high-performance vehicles. As a key figure in Fiat, Lancia, and Abarth, he was instrumental in the testing and refinement of some of the most iconic rally and racing cars of his era, leaving a lasting legacy in Italian motorsport history.
