Giampaolo Dallara (Varano de' Melegari, November 16, 1936) is an Italian engineer and entrepreneur, widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in motorsport and automotive engineering. After earning a degree in aeronautical engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, he worked at Ferrari and Maserati before leading the development of the revolutionary Lamborghini Miura (1966). In 1972, he founded his own company, establishing himself as a pioneer in aerodynamics and lightweight engineering. His expertise made him a key figure in Formula 3, IndyCar, and endurance racing, as well as in collaborations with Ferrari, Bugatti, and Alfa Romeo. Despite his entrepreneurial success, Dallara has remained an engineer at heart, dedicated to technical excellence and innovation. His legacy spans motorsport and high-performance road cars, securing his place as one of the great minds of automotive engineering.
