#GaetanoSpampinato
Gaetano Spampinato was an Italian amateur racing driver active in the late 1950s and early 1960s, primarily associated with regional competitions in Sicily. In the 1960 Targa Florio, he competed with Giuseppe Matera in a Fiat-Abarth 750 for Scuderia Etna, retiring after three laps. In 1964, Spampinato co-drove the unique Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Veloce "Goccia," designed by Michelotti and tuned by Conrero, with Vito Sabbia. They finished 25th overall and 7th in their class in the 48th Targa Florio. His involvement in motorsports appears to have been primarily at the amateur level, with no records indicating a broader impact in the racing community.
We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
