#FerrariTestarossa

The Ferrari Testarossa, introduced in 1984 at the Paris Motor Show, marked a decisive evolution in Ferrari’s twelve-cylinder grand touring lineage. Designed by Pininfarina under Leonardo Fioravanti, it replaced the 512 BBi with a new mid-mounted flat-twelve engine, improved cooling layout and enhanced cabin comfort. The car featured a wide rear track, side-mounted radiators, and distinctive straked intakes integrated into the body flanks — an aerodynamic and stylistic solution that became an icon of 1980s design. Early pre-production cars were built by Pininfarina in Cambiano, with body panels supplied by ITCA, before full production was transferred to Carrozzeria Scaglietti in Modena. Combining engineering efficiency with formal innovation, the Testarossa established a new balance between performance, usability and visual identity in Ferrari’s road car range.
