#FabrizioViolati

Fabrizio Violati was an Italian entrepreneur, gentleman driver, and one of the most influential Ferrari collectors of the 20th century. Born in Rome in 1935, he cultivated a passion for speed and mechanics from a young age, beginning with Vespa racing before moving into sports cars and endurance events. Over the decades, he built one of the world’s most respected Ferrari collections, anchored by historically significant examples such as the 250 GTO chassis 3851GT, which he acquired in 1965 and kept for nearly five decades. A passionate promoter of Italian motoring heritage, Violati founded the Maranello Rosso Collection in San Marino in 1989, a museum complex that housed both his Ferrari and Abarth cars alongside historical exhibits on Enzo Ferrari’s life. He also actively competed in historic racing events with his cars, maintaining them not as static trophies but as living machines to be driven and appreciated in motion. His support for events like the Tour Auto and Goodwood Revival, combined with his dedication to authenticity and preservation, earned him respect across the international collector community. Upon his death in 2010, his collection was partially dispersed, including the record-breaking sale of his 250 GTO, but his legacy remains as a benchmark of passion, knowledge, and commitment to Ferrari history.

We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
