#CountDoricHeyden
Count Doric Heyden was a White Russian émigré who became the UK importer and concessionaire for Delahaye in the late 1930s. He operated from a showroom in London's Park Lane and played a pivotal role in introducing competition Delahaye cars—particularly the 135S—to Britain. Following Reims in 1936, he imported the iconic Delahaye 135S chassis 47188, assigning it UK registration DUV 870. The car later passed through the hands of racers such as Tommy Clarke, Prince Bira, Rob Walker, and Ian Connell, with Count Heyden sometimes re-loaning it for races at venues such as Cork, Brooklands, Antwerp, and Crystal Palace. Heyden frequently entered cars amidst privateer teams and had a brief but memorable presence in UK motorsport before vanishing from records later on.
We'll publish a biography on him on the occasion of his anniversary or when it will be reached a sufficient number of cars.
