The Coronado Classic Speed Festival was an American historic-motorsport meeting held from 1997 at Naval Air Station North Island in Coronado, California. Organised and sanctioned in its early years by the Historic Motor Sports Association, it featured period-correct racing cars competing on a temporary circuit laid out over the active naval air station’s runways, taxiways and internal roads. Inspired by the Monterey Historic Automobile Races, the event combined historic competition with naval and aviation displays and later became one of the principal attractions of San Diego Fleet Week. The 1999 Chrysler Jeep Classic Speed Festival, held on 23–24 October, attracted more than 200 cars and approximately 20,000 spectators.
