#CarrozzeriaRiva
Italian coachbuilder in Merate (Lecco). Initially blacksmiths involved in making wheels for carts, the Riva family became carriage builders by the mid-19th century. With the advent of the automobile, Carrozzeria Riva began working on Fiat, Itala, and Lancia chassis, transforming them into beautiful and exclusive cars, barchettas, or berlinettas, acclaimed both on the track and at elegance competitions. They also built the "Nibbio," commissioned by Count Giovanni Lurani, which went on to set several speed records. Later, they specialized in custom-built bodies (for cycling races or promotional vehicles). In recent years, the Riva family has also been involved in restoring vintage cars, such as Isotta Fraschini.
