#BergstromAirForceBase
Bergstrom Air Force Base, near Austin, Texas, was one of several American military airfields temporarily adapted for sports-car racing during the early post-war period. Its wide runways and connecting taxiways provided a fast temporary circuit used for the SCCA Lone Star National Sports Car Races. In 1953 the course measured approximately 7.2 km and hosted the second round of the SCCA National Sports Car Championship; the following year a revised layout of approximately 7.9 km was used for another national meeting.
